BIO [PLAIN TEXT]

Louise Aubrie is an indie rock musician who splits her time between her hometown of London and her adopted town of New York City, bringing together the electrifying spirit of both cities in her post-punk pop anthems.

Louise first started writing and recording music at the famed Mill Hill Music Complex in London, and then developed her signature sound over many years living and playing in New York City. She has been described as "brilliant" by BBC 6 Music and "magnificent" by Louder Than War, and compared to the genius that is Blondie, The Smiths, The Pretenders and The Killers.

Louise’s new record ‘When I Don’t Love You I’ll Let You Know’ is her fourth studio album and is due for release in 2018. The record takes its cue from classic Cary Grant movies, weaving stories into infectious hooks, with a heavy guitar and electronic twist. Louise is the sole writer on the album, and has kept the recording team deliberately small and intimate: It is mixed and produced by Andy Woodard (Adam Ant), with Boz Boorer (Louise’s long-time collaborator and mentor, musical director and co-writer for Morrissey and pioneer of the British Rockabilly movement with The Polecats) having added his incomparable guitar parts.

During her career, Louise has had the honour of recording in London, both at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, and at Knight Time Studios (originally commissioned by Steve Lillywhite), and in Europe and in New York City.

Over the years, she has worked with Tom Edwards (Adam Ant, Edwyn Collins), Joe Holweger (Adam Ant), David Ruffy (The Ruts, The Waterboys, Dexy's Midnight Runners), James Knight (The Kooks, Leona Lewis, Ellie Goulding), Denis Blackham (Talk Talk, Elvis Costello, Buzzcocks), Dave Collins (Jane’s Addiction, No Doubt, The Police) and Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, Florence And The Machine).

Louise's debut album, 'Fingers Crossed...', was released in 2010 to critical acclaim in both the UK and the US, receiving national radio airplay. It was produced by Boz Boorer and described as "excellent" by Billboard Discoveries.

In March 2013, Louise released her second album, 'Time Honoured Alibi'. with Mr. Boorer once more at the helm, both as producer and as a co-writer with Louise on a new track. The lead-off single was the indie-pop track ‘Where Are You’, which consistently featured in the Top 5 of Digital Radio Tracker's National US Airplay Independent Charts and in the Top 10 most requested at Indie 104 iRadio LA.

‘Late 44’, Louise’s third album, was released in 2016. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and produced by James Knight, the lead single ‘Winter Dolour’ was picked up by national and international radio and garnered outstanding reviews in the music press.
